I am so excited to share that 2 weeks ago (sorry the info is late) we got our passport back from the Korean Consulate in Los Angles with our visas in them. A few days later we bought our plane tickets to South Korea. We leave on January 23rd and after a short lay over and a total flight time of 13 hours we will be in South Korea on Jan 24th at 5:50 pm. So this is our last waiting period.
In the mean time, we are working at an inner city ministry here in Kansas City, KS called Crosspoint. I worked there during college and it nice to be back.
Our schedule is as follows. Get there on the 24th, then start our orientation on the 26th from February 28th and during this time we will learn how to teach in Korea and get our teaching assignments. Then we start teaching in the school on March 1st. We will leave in the KNU dormitory in an apartment for the first 6 months then when new teachers come in July we will move off campus to our own apartment.
While in Korea will, we will have the opportunity to go on culture trips to see the country as well as travel on our own by train on the weekends or long breaks. Korea seems to have holidays for everything.
As we prepare for our big adventure, we could definitely use a lot of prayer. We know that this trip has definitely been in Gods plans and since we are following Gods plan will bring the opportunity Satan to attack us. Making prayer from family and friend all the more important. We will keep everyone up to date as we get settled in on the 24th.
